Day 1Cusco - Challacancha - Soraypampa - Humantay Lake

humantay-lake-2-days

Your 2-day adventure begins early at 4:30 a.m., when your guide and driver pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We’ll travel approximately 2 hours to Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy a nutritious breakfast before continuing for another hour to Challacancha (3,800 m / 12,467 ft), the official starting point of the hike. From Challacancha, we begin a scenic walk toward Soraypampa. This initial section is not very demanding, allowing for gradual acclimatization while following an ancient Inca canal and enjoying breathtaking Andean landscapes. Upon arrival, our team will warmly welcome you with a delicious lunch.

In the afternoon, we hike up to the stunning Humantay Lake (4,200 m / 13,780 ft). The ascent is taken at a comfortable pace, and at the summit, you’ll be rewarded with unforgettable views of the turquoise lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

After exploring the lake, we descend back to camp to enjoy a delicious dinner and rest, preparing for the next day’s adventure.
