We will depart from Cusco at 4 a.m. in our private transport, which will take approximately three and a half hours to reach the village of Quesiuno (4,376 m / 14,357 ft), where we will enjoy breakfast. Before starting our trek, there will be a brief introduction to meet the cook and the muleteer who will accompany us throughout the route.
The day begins with a three-hour ascent to Abra Puca (4,870 m / 15,977 ft), where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of turquoise lagoons. From here, you can admire the Ausangate mountain in all its glory and recharge your energy surrounded by this majestic landscape.
After a well-deserved break, we will descend for about one and a half hours, passing through colorful hills and stunning scenery that make you feel as if you are approaching the Rainbow Mountain. Along the way, you may spot llamas and alpacas grazing nearby, before arriving at our lunch spot in Antapata (4,750 m / 15,584 ft).
The adventure continues with a two-hour climb to Abra Warmisaya (4,985 m / 16,355 ft), where vibrant colors dazzle every visitor. Finally, we descend for 45 minutes to reach our campsite at Surinecocha (4,800 m / 15,748 ft), completing an unforgettable day of the Ausangate Trekking 2 Days experience.

We will start the day with a delicious breakfast to energize ourselves. After filling our water bottles, we will begin a gentle two-hour ascent to warm up for the day. Soon, we will reach the Rainbow Mountain (5,100 m / 16,732 ft) and take our time to admire this breathtaking and unique landscape.
Next, we will descend to the Red Valley viewpoint, where you can witness nature’s masterpiece as the vibrant red hills contrast perfectly with the lush green of the valley. We will continue descending along a gradual path for about an hour until we reach Llacto (4,630 m / 15,190 ft), where we will enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Afterward, we will continue by private transport for approximately an hour and a half to Andahuaylillas (3,122 m / 10,242 ft) to visit its famous church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.” Then, we will travel 20 minutes to Rumi Punku.
Finally, we will take a 45-minute descent to the Huacarpay Wetland (3,030 m / 9,940 ft), an ideal place to observe migratory birds and enjoy the last lunch prepared by our talented cook. We will then return to Cusco in about 30 minutes, taking with us the best memories of this unforgettable Ausangate Trekking 2 Days adventure.
